Common Council Seeks Resident for Utility Service Board
The Marion Common Council will soon have a vacancy for the Marion Utilities Service Board. This appointment is a four-year term beginning August 1, 2026, and ending on July 31, 2030. Resumes must accompany an application that can be picked up or emailed from the Marion City Clerk’s office or emailed to councilpresident@cityofmarion.in.gov no later than July 15, 2026, at noon. Applicants must receive services from Marion Utilities to be considered. The Board provides financial stewardship by reviewing and approving all expenditures by the Utilities, the monthly financial statements, annual budgets, and contracts/projects. The Board also works to ensure the current and future Utilities are maintaining high standards for not only the community, but also to meet or exceed regulatory requirements. See Indiana Code 8−1.5−3−4 for a full description. The Board typically meets at 5:30pm on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays each month.
