Grant County Young Professionals Network Announces October and November Events
GRANT COUNTY, Ind. — The Grant County Young Professionals Network (GCYPN), a program of the Greater Grant County Chamber of Commerce, is inviting young professionals from across Grant County to connect, explore the community, and give back through two upcoming fall events.
On Wednesday, October 28 at 6 p.m., GCYPN will head to Art Alive with Alecia for an evening of creativity and connection. Participants will create their own custom stained-glass project, choosing from hundreds of available designs and color combinations.
The cost ranges from $20–$40, depending on the project selected, and will be paid directly at the event. Reservations are required.
An optional costume contest will be held, with the crowd favorite winning an Art Alive with Alicia gift card!
Art Alive with Alecia offers hands-on creative experiences designed to make art approachable and enjoyable, regardless of experience level. With a wide variety of stained-glass designs and colors available, participants can personalize a project while spending time connecting with others in a relaxed setting.
Then, on Wednesday, November 25, GCYPN will partner with Thriving Grant County to help prepare and deliver Thanksgiving meals to neighbors throughout the community. Volunteers can participate anytime between 2:30 and 6 p.m. at 213 E. South A in Gas City, and there is no requirement to stay for the entire event.
Volunteers can choose to help with packing and food preparation beginning at 2:30 p.m., meal delivery beginning at 5 p.m., or cleanup beginning at 5:15 p.m.
Thriving Grant County works to strengthen the community by bringing people and resources together to meet local needs. Its Thanksgiving meal effort provides an opportunity for volunteers to directly serve Grant County residents while helping ensure neighbors can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.
“These two events are a great example of what we want GCYPN to offer,” said Angela Herrington, Director of Membership for the Greater Grant County Chamber of Commerce. “We want young professionals to have easy, welcoming ways to meet people, experience more of what Grant County has to offer, and find meaningful ways to be part of the community.”
GCYPN events are designed to be welcoming and accessible. There is no age limit, no pressure, and Chamber membership is not required. Whether someone is new to Grant County or has lived here their entire life, GCYPN provides opportunities to make new connections, discover local businesses and organizations, and become more involved in the community.
