Larson to Take Lead for Marion High School Athletics

Marion High School’s next athletic director is a familiar face, as he has been a part of the MHS staff for many years. Nate Larson will take the reins for MHS athletics, building on his experience as a teacher and a coach.

The Marion Community Schools Board of School Trustees approved his hiring as Marion High School athletic director at their regular meeting on April 28. He will start in this new position July 1.

“I am truly honored to serve as the new Athletic Director at Marion High School. I am excited to lead an athletic department that is fully student‑centered, championing both academic expectations and athletic development,” Larson said.

“I am committed to creating an environment where every student‑athlete feels valued, every coach feels supported and empowered, and every family feels proud to be part of Marion Community Schools. This is an incredible opportunity, and I look forward to working with our exceptional students, teachers and community.”

He has been on the coaching staff for MHS track and field since 2014, and in the role of head coach since 2016. He has also coached football, golf, and cross country at the middle school level. He has been teaching at MHS since 2013. Larson earned his bachelor’s degree in art education from Indiana Wesleyan University, and has also completed his principal’s leadership certification.
