Washington takes the lead at Marion High School
Javon Washington is stepping into the role of principal for Marion High School.
He has been part of the leadership team at MHS since 2023, first as dean and then as assistant principal. He has also served as interim co-principal since February, alongside fellow interim co-principal JaLair Flynn.
“I am excited for this new role,” Washington said. “Becoming the building principal of Marion High School at this time is a full-circle moment for me. The first group of kids that I ever taught almost 10 years ago are a part of this 2026 graduating class.”
Washington earned his Bachelor of Arts in theatre and his Master of Public Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. He also received his Building Administrator Certification from Ball State University, where he is currently pursuing his doctorate in education.
He will take the lead for MHS effective immediately.
