Family Service Society, Inc. will be hosting the 29th Annual Crystal Ball on February 23, 2019 at Meshingomesia Country Club at 6 pm. The Crystal Ball is a fundraiser that benefits services and programming provided by Family Service Society, Inc. to help change lives for good.
This year’s event will be the kickoff of the 100th year celebration for Family Service Society, Inc., which began offering services in Grant County in 1919.
“Each year for the last 29 years, we have hosted the Crystal Ball with the purpose of gathering together as a community to meet the needs of those suffering from abuse and neglect, violence in their homes, and the day to day trials that life throws in our path.” Said Lisa Dominisse, President/CEO of Family Service Society, Inc. “Together we ease suffering, prevent tragedy, and help lost souls find healing. This year, as we celebrate our 100th anniversary, we are striving to hit the goal of $100,000 raised through this event so our impact on individuals, children and families can be even greater.”
Crystal Ball will feature an auction, dinner and dancing with music by Rascal Martinez. As well as the presentation of FSSI’s own, Crystal Awards. The Crystal Awards- History Award & Vision Award- were established in 1991 at the first annual Crystal Ball fundraiser and have been presented each year, thereafter. These awards are designed to recognize the selfless givers of their time, talent, treasure and testimony for the betterment of Family Service Society, Inc. These awards are presented to the strong leaders who demonstrate a unique ability to guide and inspire others in a manner that contributes to the effectiveness and efficiency of FSSI to be successful. They truly embrace our mission of changing lives for Good!
This year will also see the presentation of a special recognition, the Crystal Rose Award; a special award created in 2015 as a namesake award honoring long serving Executive Director, Connie Rose. This award is given on an as determined basis. Individuals who receive this award embody the core values of integrity, passion for healthy children & families, and community. They keep Family Services in the forefront of their minds as they work, play, and interface with others. They give generously of their time, talents, and treasures. Only one (1) Crystal Rose Award has been given and the recipient was to Patrice Marcuccilli, whose original idea gave birth to the Crystal Ball as a way to build awareness and bring needed funds to the agency.
Returning this year, will be District 31 Indiana House Representative, Kevin Mahan to facilitate the Live Auction for the evening.
“We are excited to welcome our friend, Kevin Mahan back to facilitate the Live Auction,” Said Iris Brunner, Marketing & Development Director. “He brought so much fun to the event last year. And this year we have made it a priority to up the fun factor and including Mr. Mahan was just a given to help us create a memorable experience to help us meet our fundraising goal.” Said Brunner.
