MHS Black History Club Presents ''The Wiz'' Feb 22
MHS Black History Club presents: ‘The Wiz’
Marion High School Black History Club invites you to the fantastical world of "The Wiz" on the main stage at the Walton Performing Arts Center at Marion High School.
This beloved musical take on the story of the L. Frank Baum’s The Wizard of Oz brings high energy and a modern sensibility — along with a mix of rock, gospel, and soul music! Come out and enjoy Dorothy’s adventures in the land of Oz, brought to life on stage.
The play is set for 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Walton Center at MHS, 750 W. 26th St.. Tickets are general admission, and cost $7.
The MHS Black History Club has put on a play every year since 1980. The play is the largest fundraiser of the year for the club, which helps fund various opportunities and trips that help broaden local students’ horizons and set them up for lifelong success.
Tickets can be purchased from any Black History Club member or from Bobbie Owensby, MHS teacher and sponsor of the club, as well as director of the play. They will also be available at the door the night of the play.
