Freedom 250 Mobile Museum at Indiana Wesleyan University March 19-21
Indiana Wesleyan University is honored to invite you to experience the Freedom 250 Mobile Museum as our nation kicks off its celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
Freedom 250 is a White House initiative launched to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States. The Freedom 250 Truck Mobile Museums are an outreach effort from this initiative, operated by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), to bring the story of America’s founding directly to communities across the country.
Indiana Wesleyan University has been selected as a host site for this remarkable traveling exhibit commemorating the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States. At this time, IWU in Marion, Indiana, is the only scheduled stop in Indiana, making this a rare opportunity for our region.
This free, immersive museum experience brings the story of America’s founding and development to life and takes it directly to communities through a custom-designed 80-foot expandable mobile museum. Inside, visitors walk through engaging exhibits and interactive displays that highlight key moments, people, and ideas that have shaped our nation over the past 250 years. With interactive and inspiring content for visitors of all ages, the exhibit tells the harrowing story of how 13 colonies declared independence, defeated the greatest empire in the world, and secured American sovereignty 250 years ago. With engaging elements such as the “Are you a loyalist or patriot?” quiz, a kiosk to sign your name digitally to the Declaration of Independence, and a wall of 50 American heroes, these exhibits celebrate the remarkable achievements that 250 years of freedom have made possible. For more information, feel free to preview the experience.
